They do what they say, reduce the wind. I lifted them away from my ear and I could definitely tell the difference. I could hear my music more easily and hear my friends conversation. Obviously if there is a cross wind they are not effective. I wear my strap pretty tight, so they are a little snug fit, and slightly uncomfortable. However, you get used to it. My friend wears his straps more lose but he tells me that the product still works well. Overall very happy with them. — Jane Dean

I wear hearing aids that are set up to alleviate moderate hearing loss. Wind noise is always bothersome to the point where walking into a headwind is unpleasant. I installed this product as directed. This was a very easy process. I just had to lengthen the head strap that lies in front of my ears. This led to minor adjustments to the straps behind my ears and under my chin. From start to finish installing the two wind-blockers took less than four or five minutes. Comfort was fine too. After two or three minutes I didn’t feel them at all. I bought these via Amazon because I knew I could return them with no questions asked. They are not going back! I took a ride this morning that included a downhill runs where I easily spend a three or four minutes above 30 mph. I did not need to increase volume because there was no wind noise. I did hear my wheels on the blacktop. I also heard barking dogs and people saying hello as I passed. I heard the ice cubes in my water bottle clattering around. Wind noise was almost completely eliminated. When I passed 35 mph I did hear some very moderate wind noise. So little that I didn’t need to up the volume. These things really work well. The key to being happy with this product is all in the installation. Read the instructions and follow them. I adjusted my front helmet straps so that the wind-blocks were just in front of my ear. They conformed to my face perfectly and directed the air away from my ears. Build quality is excellent. These should last for years!   — Bob L

These work great for me. I have a Garneau Raid helmet and a small-medium head. With the way the helmet fits me, the Wind-Blox is a bit longer than the strap, but I was still able to attach it. My helmet is actually a little more comfortable and fits more snugly with these attached. They do not block 100% of wind noise, but they eliminate the worst noise, the high-pitched wind that seems to go directly into your ear canal. With these, the wind sounds more distant and more like a hum. I wear earbuds while riding on a bike trail, and the Wind-Blox make it much easier to hear the audio. This allows me to turn the volume down considerably, so now I can also hear external sounds better. The materials seem to be very sturdy and top-quality. The velcro is strong and the outside feels like soft neoprene. — TSB224

These things are so great! They make cycling in the cold and wind so much more comfortable. I don’t have to try to jam my helmet down over a hat, and the vents on my helmet can keep working so I don’t overheat. They fit on the sides of my helmet without any fuss and stay in place without annoying me or pressing on my ears. — S Turpin

I use a competing item from https://wind-blox.com, which I have posted about in the past. I switched helmets recently to be able to install my ginormous rear view mirror (the previous helmet didn’t have the slots I needed), and I quickly realized I needed to move my wind-blox over! Dollar-for-dollar, one of the best purchases I have made as far as increasing enjoyment of cycling. — Fitz Chivalry

When you cycle, of course, with a bicycle helmet on (!) Therefore, it is smart that you can add WindBlox to the helmet straps, in front of the ears. The barrier ensures that the wind is prevented from whistling directly into your ear canals. Thus, wind noise is significantly reduced.     — Aspie DK blog

We’ve covered Wind-Blox before, and been surprised by the results. If you’re sick of getting freaked out by people whiffling past you without warning, Wind-Blox can help.  These seemingly simple strap covers velcro in place in front of your ears to reduce wind noise at speed. This, in turn, lets you hear much, much more of what’s going on around you and behind you. The refined Wind-Blox Pro edition is a slimmer design than previous iterations, and doesn’t interrupt the clean lines of your helmet strap as much. In testing, they work a little better than the original Wind-Blox to, especially when you’re moving pretty fast down the road. — Bek SLOCyclist.com

Wow! I didn’t expect that the Wind-Blox work so good! Although they don’t block all wind noise, they block enough to enjoy riding my bike again without having the roaring wind sound in my ears. And this is very important because I have tinnitus and don’t endure constant and loud noise. — Chris (Switzerland)

A remarkable distance in wind noise and discomfort. My initial solution was to wear ear plugs, but those roared almost as bad when the wind hit them. These simple attachments do indeed reduce 60 to 80 percent of the wind noise. I still hear wind, but drastically reduced. On colder days I wear ear plugs as well, but only to keep cold ear from my infection prone ears. When I first put them on my helmet strap and started riding, I could still hear light wind noise. I was annoyed, but as noted in the included instructions, while still riding, I lifted my helmet strap away from my ear. The difference is remarkable. I recommend these for everyone. — Amazon Customer
